Coop's colic, play time and Dolce the watchcat

The Cooper Keeper

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, let's just blame it on delirium from sleep deprivation. We survived the heat wave and I think we were all jealous of Cooper who spent his days sleeping and hanging out in just his diaper. The heat did manage to start a small baby acne outbreak but it has since calmed down and we only see it when Coop gets really mad. Speaking of really mad, it seems that Cooper has a bit of colic. He gave his Nana a bit of a tough time the other day with a 30 minute scream fest. Today has been a little better so far but our nights are pretty rough when it seems to be the worst. When we aren't dealing with the colic or sleeping, eating or pooping we are having tummy time and play time. Cooper is really trying to get the hang of crawling these days with his little froggy legs going at full speed and gaining more control of his head and neck daily. All of this action is taking place under the watchful eye of Dolce. For those of you that have met Dolce you know that she may be the tiniest cat but she has the biggest personality. Dolce has taken on the role of keeper of Cooper. You enter the room with Dolce, you leave the room with Dolce, she approves any and all Cooper activity these days. For those of you who come visit, she may make you sign in and do a background check before you enter the room. Good luck with that.

Crabby Patty

Although you can't tell from the pictures I'm posting Cooper has been a bit of a crabby patty lately. He spent nearly the entire day today awake and irritated and at times he almost just seems frustrated that he can't crawl yet. We've been practicing the crawling and he's doing really well but he definitely gets mad when it doesn't seem to go the way he wants. He is starting to sleep more consistently in 4 hours stretches though when he actually does sleep which is nice for me. Here are some new pics. If you are wondering what is covering his little wee wee in one of the pictures, it happens to be a pee pee teepee so we don't get sprayed when we change him :).

We finally got him to fall asleep except it was on our bed.....little guy, very big bed and very sleepy parents. The pee pee teepee.....obviously much more enjoyable for us than it is for him :)

The Moose

Well it seems that Cooper has easily moved out of his preemie phase. As of his doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon he is now a whopping 8 lbs 3 oz. which is up from the teeny 6 lbs 15 oz. only last Monday. He also now 20.5 inches long, up to inches since he was born one month ago today. We're also seeing tons of changes in our little Coop. He is gaining more control of his head and he's awake a lot more during the day and showing signs of wanting to crawl as and will now roll from side to side when he is on his back. He's also becoming quite the prankster, he managed to poop all over his Dad the other night and we are quickly learning how to dodge his pee when we change him :).

The Breast Intervention

My apologies to anyone and everyone who has been waiting for an update or new pictures, I've been the subject of a breast intervention. Cooper is doing wonderfully and growing like a weed. And with his physical growth comes a great appetite, an appetite in which my breasts could not keep up with. So thanks to the internet, my fantastic (had I written this during the ordeal you would have sensed some sarcasm but none intended at this point :) ) husband came up with a plan to increase my milk supply based on all the research and suggestions he could find online. So for 24 hours I was nothing but a milk machine and a faulty one at that it seemed. I stuck to the plan though thanks to Captain Boob (aka my husband) and my milk supply seems to have increased a smidge thus dodging a major screaming bullet named Cooper. So we are finally settling back into our eating, sleeping, pooping routine and I finally found a moment where I could update the blog and here we are. You will be rewarded with many, many pictures.....enjoy.

Not only is he adorable curled up in the boppy but it's important to note that he is wearing his sheep onesie.......who would guess they would actually make a onesie with sheep all over it!And he's just hanging out having his bottle....The breast intervention wore him out too....Why isn't Mommy passed out on the floor too???The face Coop makes when he is done with the bottle....
